Well, Ron, I think you may have it is well as it gets. Mine pops the way you describe when in the VOX mode also, but it isn't bothersome to me because in that mode I have it slowed down enough that it doesn't happen often Can't thank George and Tom enuff for their work on the key clicks mod, was ashamed to use the radio before the mod.
