I had a similar problem with my '98 model MP until I cleared all message
memories, then it worked ok (I was using a computer program via the CAT
jack, and not the FH-1, but there shouldn't be any difference).
To clear the message memories, access each one, but don't key anything
into it. Wait about a minute (to let it run to the end) and then exit by
pressing the "9" key on the FH-1. Do this for all 6 message memories.
After clearing all of the message memories, see if you can program them
all ok. Don't forget to set menu item 7-0 to "Iambic 2" while you're
programming the message memories (this makes things much easier). You
can set it back to "Iambic 1" when you're done.
