[1000mp] MKV menu item 7-7 question?

I have a MKV with the final menu items
enabled/configured as follows:

1. 4-4 / off
2. 5-9 / 6.0
3. 7-7 / 100hz - 3100hz ( on both xmitt and rec.)

With the above settings, menu item 8-9 settings have
no effect on the xmitt or rec audio. If I turn the
processor on I can hear a difference in the transmit
audio if I vary the TX LSB or TX USB settings (not the
the Proc LSB settings but the TX LSB or TX USB
settings). If I turn menu item 7-7 to off, then 8-9
settings do have an effect on xmitt and rec. Is this
operating correctly? I have done
several "all power re-sets" of the microprocessor just
