[1000mp] Using FT-1000MP MK5 with Inverter

The MK5 receiver can be run on 13.8 VDC. The 32 volts is only required
for the transmitter. Since this rig runs 200 watts output I would think
that you would need at least a 500 watt inverter and it will probably
require a clean 60 hz sine wave.
This seems like a lot of trouble and expense when you can pick up an
older HF rig that will run off of 12 volts for a back up at a reasonable
cost. Check eBay/swapnets/hamfests in your area?
