Hi Pete,
I can't answer your specific question but I have a related one which maybe=
you
have already confronted. I have an "older" Heil ProSet and the earphone=
audio
is way low out of my Mark V. It was perfect with my old TS-940S.
I'm wondering if maybe something like the 8:600 ohm transformer you=
mentioned
might help; I could mount it externally in a little box with 1/4" jack,
etc. I
seem to remember hearing something about the newer Heils being better, but=
not
sure. Are the older ones higher impedance?
I think someone, not me, said once that they mentioned the problem to Heil=
and
Bob just flew off yelling about lousy designers at Yaesu, etc. etc. Sheesh.
