I have a similar experience . After being using a TS850S for almost 10
years, I have recently purchased a FT1000MP MV Field.
The NB noise reduction on the 850S, at least for power line noise, is a LOT
better than the FT1000MP. I have played with the Menu settings and the best
results are only achieved from B13 to B15. However using these settings, any
incoming signal "pumps"; Any near by signal modulates the rx station. From
A1 to B12 menu settings no noise blacking is achieved.
So, this is undoubtedly a weak point for the MP which , if there is no work
around, it will make the radio unusable in many circumstances, mainly where
high main made noise is present.
