The problem with the SB-220 is that there's no snubbing diode on the relay, 
which operates at ~110VDC, so you can get some fairly substantial current 
surges.  I used a 220-ohm series current limiting resistor with my TS-930, 
but if you have any concerns at all I'd suggest installing the Harbach 
"soft-key" circuit in your SB-220.  It limits the switched voltage to low 2 
digits and a few MA.
