The problem with noise blankers in all receivers is that if any strong
signal appears within the passband of the roofing filter (which is
perhaps +/- 10 kHz of the frequency the receiver is tuned to) causes the
noise blanker to appear to be turned off while that signal is there.

Perhaps, in the Ten-Tec Orion, this noise blanker problem will be much
alleviated because the Orion's roofing filter is actually the
user-selected IF xtal filter.  We'll see....
