Tuned significantly lowers the noise floor on 160 meters and is thus the 
correct 160 meter setting.

Also, when setting the IF gain listen to a very weak signal like S-0, and 
bring up the IF gain until the you have maximum intelligibility, never mind 
the sub receiver s-meter , the two are not calibrated against one another and 
will not increase at the same rate.

Its a good time for some of the newbies to enjoy the archives, they are worth 
the effort.

PS when I run the Commander I can work all the S-0 stations just fine with 
the 10 element log periodic and the MP.
