Check the archive and you should find a message from W8JI comparing the 
keying waveforms produced by the two mods -- they are quite different.  But 
frankly, I'm not sure that either one is necessary on later Mark Vs and 
Fields -- I've used the technique Tom described for assessing key clicks 
with a second RX, and believe that mine is pretty decent already.  Maybe 
this is observation error, but I'm not convinced.  It sure would be nice if 
Yaesu would disclose when they make rolling production changes, the way 
Kenwood used to.
