[1000mp] Mark V Sensitivity and DSP

Interesting thread. I've had a MK5 fore 2 years. My observations are
similar to Bob's.
I find that the DSP noise reduction and various contours works fairly well
on CW. To me, they don't seem to make a difference at all on SSB. On CW,
contours C and D seem to help pretty well on the low bands when I have the
selectivity wide. When I use the 500 Hz or 250 Hz filters, the signal to
noise ratio changes enough that the DSP doesn't help a bit. I don't have
the front end mod.
I'd really like to hear about a side-by-side comparison with another
receiver. Perhaps the MK5 is just as good as it gets.
