The Operating Manual, page 68 , says to connect a linear's exciter-enable
output to that pin. I presume this is for amplifiers, e.g. Alpha 76(?), that
are directly keyed, and which, in turn enable the exciter when they are at
equilibrium and "ready" for RF.

The Technical Supplement shows that pin 8 drives a NAND gate through a
voltage divider. I presume the logic is 5V and the divider allows 12V input
for Inhibit.
