[1000mp] MkV Amp interfacing answers

Being as impatient as I am, I modified a common DIN plug to fit the Band Data jack.  All pins on a common 8 pin DIN line
up correctly except for 7 and 8 so I pushed them out, sawed a groove in the pin block that allowed correct placement of
pin 8, and glued it in. Works FB.

According to the schematic in the service manual there is nothing internal to the MkV that will pull pin 8 high and
inhibit TX.  I tried it and had to pull pin 8 high with a resistor to pin 1 to inhibit the MkV TX.  I used 1.7K.  It now
works as advertised... if I disconnect the enable line from the back of the amp the MkV won't transmit.  It won't
transmit with the amp powerd off either so now I have to add a switch to enable the rig when running barefoot.
