I have CW DSP demod disabled in my 1000MP (not Mk V).

With CW DSP demod "on" (and with a Yaesu/Inrad 500/400hz filter combo) and 
listening to very weak
cw signals on 160m/80m the very weak cw just does not stand out above the 
noise as well as when CW DSP is "off".    Seems especially noticeable with 
the narrow bandpass contours 120 or 60hz.

I played with this yet again last night on 160m enabling and disabled CW 
DSP demod and the very weak cw signals just stand out better without DSP CW 
demod.
