Still a frustrated operator.
Attempting to join the PSK revolution, (digital modes RTTY and SSTV as well.)
Acquired a RASCAL Interface from BUX COMMUNICATIONS www.BUXcommCO.com
Have wired it to be able to receive and see the results via DigiPan, or MixW2
My PC is a GATEWAY P4 2.0
Patching out of the MP AF Out jack and into the RASCAL and the speaker
output on the SoundBlaster card to the RASCAL and into the PC from the
RASCAL for sound.
When I try to use the line out jack on the SoundBlaster, nothing is
seemingly sent to the rig, so I'm using the speaker out of the SoundBlaster
Am attempting to input the rig thru the microphone, (per supplied 8 pin
female plug.)
Have been able to trigger the rig via PTT.
But here's where I'm losing the battle.
I'm attempting to use the USB mode on the MP -
When I direct the software to XMIT it does and does show some output power.
But first to test that, I asked my local ham friends to listen for my
station. Tested first by XMIT on CW and received 5NN plus reports.
But when in the USB and initiating the software to XMIT in PSK they say
that on their software reader they see yellow almost all across their
waterfall display, (not the slim line that shows active stations.)
Also, only some of the copy is getting thru, also with a weak signal,
(maximum output is about 10 to 20 watts on my MP PO meter, this with the
RASCAL audio level control open all the way. When I trim back the audio
pot it drops the rigs output power and I have left it half way.
I'm wondering if my settings for USB have been modified and has left the MP
unable to XMIT PSK via USB in its current configuration?
Or might it be a PC XP operating environment issue? Hopefully some MP
reflector friend can steer me in the right direction.
It's not much fun being clueless. Who can help?
Thanks in advance.
