Well, I finally got answered... seems they finished with my radio on 
Monday, and as of Friday morning the "paperwork" hasn't been completed, so 
it will not ship back to me before Monday or Tuesday, they say.

If this is indicative of the efficiency of the rest of the operation, no 
wonder they have these huge backlogs.  It took them 4 work days to get my 
radio logged into their system, and will have taken 4 more, after it was 
finished, to log it back out.  Put another way, a week out of the month in 
the pipeline is due to paperwork.

Oh, the customer service person this time spoke English, but she was abrupt 
and snippy to the point of rudeness, even though I worked very hard at 
being friendly and pleasant.  I wonder if they really do monitor these 
calls for quality control.

I think I'll have a word with Chip at Dayton.  They're killing themselves 
this way.
