GM Vern;
This has been a pretty well documented issue with the internal keyer in MPs.
I have the problem in my MP (plain). Most of the time it is not to
difficult to deal with...just an extra dit or two (pain in the neck though).
But it has just taken off issuing a long string of dits and I had to hit vox
to shut it off...or stop the keyer. Hope it doesn't get worse for u. I
have an external keyer, and will soon put it into service. 73/dx

Subject: [1000mp] Minor moderately high speed keying problem
Just noticed a keying problem on my Mk V of 20 months (new).
When I key (internal keyer) a sequence consisting of my call with a
short break ( chasing K1B ) on the second and succeeding bursts,
my dits seem to be speeded up and the timing is off a bit
demonstrating a bit of erratic behavior.
If it was RF I would think it would show on the first burst. Maybe
insufficient shielding of the paddle cables.
Not worth complaining to the factory. Often, in a net operation, I use
a computer to key the radio and displays perfect character timing.
Curious if others may have noticed something similar.
