The IF hiss is mainly noticeable in CW mode with narrow filters and the
EDSP turned off.  The INRAD front end mod reduces this hiss because menu
item 9-1 (IF gain) is reduced to compensate for the additional gain
introduced by the INRAD mod.

The "bonus capacitor mod" provided with the INRAD front end mod
significantly reduces the IF hiss even more.  With these mods installed,
the IF hiss is reduced enough to be virtually unoticeable.
