[1000mp] Intermittent transmitter - 1000MP

Hoping someone has a good suggestion of two:
I have bought, lately, an early S/N 1000MP, (1995 build) which has an 
occasional 'no-output' condition.  The receiver is always okay, and the 
no-output has the following characteristics:
1.  IC is usually about pegged ...20 amps or more'
2.  Band dependent.  Sometimes only on 160 or 80.  Other times on several 
bands at a time, but never on all bands.
3.  Tuner in or out - doesnt matter.
4.  Temp dependent?  Sometimes it will happen for the first few minutes and 
go away when warmed up.  Other times it will happen after a few hours when 
the rig is nice and hot.
5.  Resets dont help.  No RF getting back into the rig.
6.  Only happens about once a month (with daily operation) and only lasts 10 
to 30 minutes or so.  Cycling between bands sometimes seems to help restore 
things, but this could be my imagination.

I'm new to 1000MPs, but I thought I read somewhere that the relays in and 
around the transmit BPFs were sometimes bad in the early S/N units.  If this 
is the problem however, I don't know why I would lose 2 or three bands at a 
time.

Any thoughts?
