[1000mp] Mark V problems

I got mine at Dayton last year from AES. When I actually received it, the
serial number suggests that it was manufactured in Nov. 2000. So far no
problems or concerns. I have seen the "slow" display at power on though.
Many other posters have indicated that waiting a few minutes and it will
"come up" is absolutely correct.
Have installed the INRAD filters and IF Mod and again no issues. I love it,
but the learning curve, for me at least, is steep.

Mine is 4 or 5 months old and has worked flawlessly.

I believe that is the case John, there was definitely a bad batch that was
shipped stateside in the first runs, myself and ZC4DW bought ours
"locally"
in Cyprus for a little over $2000 18months ago and they have been superb -
racked up around 60,000 QSO's in all modes including RTTY and SSTV - I/we
only have praise for this radio.
Best wishes,
Steve ZC4BS
