Hello Hans....
Perhaps you missed Bob's reply, but my suggestion to try a master reset
resolved his problem.....You can accomplish this by holding in the bottom
three buttons on the keypad, and turning on the Mark V....Of course, please
record all your personal settings first, because the radio will return to
factory default settings following this procedure...If you have a software
glitch, this may help....I haven't tried to evaluate your problem to see if
it is endemic to the Mark V because I am not in the radio shack.....but, it
is easy enough to try the reset and see what happens....
Happy Dxing and 73,
Mike

Dear Bob,
Could be a software problem.
I have something strange too, what seems a software problem to me.
In the CW mode on 3,5 MHz, when I switch on:
- Monitor
- Keyer
- Break In
and I touch my paddles, the Mark V starts to scan very slowly...
When I switch off one of these three functions the slow scanning stops. When
I switch it on again (independent which one) the scanning starts again.
I tried all combinations with other functions, but it only occurs when the
three above mentioned functions are switched on together.
I think this is a software problem too. Probably a bug.
73, Hans PA1HR.

I'm stumped. Suddenly tonight on 17 mtr SSB when I'm in Class A in the Mark
V, driving the Quadra, when I push to talk or activate through the VOX, a
full power carrier, that can't be turned off by PTT or VOX, locks on. If I
push the Class A button and disable Class A it goes off. It doesn't happen
with the Amp turned off or in the idle mode and it doesn't happen, with or
without the Amp, on any other band. I've been fooling all day with WriteLog
control, but it's just the same with the computer disconnected. Anybody have
any ideas? Thx 73 de Bob K2WY
