Jim,
I have used PSK31 with the Mark-V many times. I leave my RF Gain fully
clockwise, but limit my audio drive to obtain as much as 70 watts in the
psk31 mode. Never had a problem with IMD's. I can't believe all the hams
out there who have 100 watt rigs, and ONLY set there RF Output Power to
no more than 20 watts! No wonder why they hear me so well... and I have
problems hearing them! Of course if you have the RF Gain fully clockwise,
and
limit your audio drive so that the output power is 70 watts... there is no
way the
ALC should be deflecting.
I also use the PS31-U DATA mode, with my SCS PTC-II unit set as follows:
MARk = 1100Hz
SPACE = 900Hz
I then use the DSP DATA Filter in the Mark-V (880Hz to 1120Hz), and also the
250Hz Bandpass Filters
