Hello Jim,

The audiolevel (so the ALC) is very important with PSK31! The station being
in communication with, is perhaps able to tell you the quality of your
signal. You will then soon find out which adjustment is the best for your
communication with the Mk V.

Class A will certainly improve the quality of your transmitted PSK31 signal.

Keep the audiolevel and the outputlevel as low as you can. Because of the
very small bandwidth of PSK31 it does not need much audio; on the contrary!

After more then a few QSO's you will easily learn how to adjust your Mk V.
It sometimes is just a matter of feeling.

Enjoy PSK31; it really is a very fine and efficient mode. And very good for
DX too!
