It seems to me that there are at least two bands that share the bandpass filter - 14 and 21 Mhz! 
Those can be listened simultaneously with no attennuation. And this is a very useful combination in contests. 
Probably there are some combinations with WARC bands as well but I am more into contesting. I wish 28 MHz was combined to those two!

I have a stupid question about 1000D - have never touched it but have considered it as a possible second radio. Although there are two separate receivers and 2 antenna input ports etc... it is not possible to receive on one VFO while transmitting on the other, is it???
