Try a different dealer Ken, it appears a bad batch of the earlier Mk 5's
were sent to stateside, looks like they are still circulating   :-(

We bought two from Cyprus over �1000 cheaper than UK - both superb rigs and
we have worked over 80,000 QSO's in all modes from CW to SSTV without any
hitches whatsoever in temperatures above 40c ...... (but will now of course
go deaf during the IARU this weekend !!!)

Don't give up on it Ken, you will be missing out !
