 Well  I am on my third FT1000mkV in about 2 months:
       the first = dead in the box
       the second = died in 9 days
       the third= display totally died in 2 1/2 days.......


I GIVE UP! All I get from tech support is that I have bad luck - the "radio 
is bullet proof"  

I guess I will stick with my old ICOM 751.  Too bad, the mkV (when it works) 
is a better radio
