[1000mp] 80 BC Interference on Mark-V

I recently purchased two Yaesu FT1000MP Mark-V's and got rid of my old
1000MP. Since this radio change I've noticed a lot of interference on 80m
from several AM broadcast stations. I don't remember having this problem
with the old radio, but I'm normally not on the band that much so I can't be
sure. I can hear several different AM stations tuning 3-4 MHz. My 80m
antenna is a 90+' rotatable dipole @ 160', however I can also hear the BC
interference with my 40m F.S. beam at the same height and to a lesser degree
on my other high band monobanders. I found that the VRF preselect (thanks
for the suggestion WX0B) helped minimize the problem but I question if
something is wrong with the receiver or it's design. I also put inline a
Dunestar 80m bandpass filter which helped a little. I don't know if the
W3NQN Broadcast filter will offer additional help. The local broadcast
stations are 60dB over S9 when I listen on THEIR frequency with the dipole.
On 80m the interference peaks at S9. My two Mark-V's were purchased from
different dealers at different times and both have the same problem. Has
anyone else noticed this or have any suggestions? BTW, I tried transmitting
into my antenna with a KW to clean up any possible bad connections.
