I have a Heil Pro headset with the "rag chew" element, and a Heil desk mic
with the hm-4 element. They work okay, and get acceptable audio reports.
I get much better audio reports from my Radio Shack 33-1070D microphone,
This mic normally sells for $50, but goes on sale frequently for $30. It is
manufactured by Shure, and has a Shure element in it. It sounds remarkedly
like an SM57 or SM58. It's a fantastic value, and a very good sounding mic,
if you're looking for audio quality instead of busting pileups.
It can be heard nightly, on 3850. Many folks there use this mic. Feel free
to check in and bring the subject up.
my $.02
