[1000mp] pesky DIN plugs...

Dear K6NA and group:
Many thanks.
In an effort to be able to get a new amplifier on line, I have
ordered some of the DP8/262 plugs from The RF C.
I also ordered Y's CT-58 Band Data cable. Then I learned that the
CT-58 has a mini 8 pin DIN on the transceiver end. The other end
(intended for Y's amplifier) might be right.
Y wrote me! to say that their part number for the connector is
P0090651 and is called: "Connector E8-701B-00 FT-1000MP" I have tried
to order one from them, but I do not know if they received the order.
I have expended a vast amount of time just to get a part that is
needlessly non-standard and that would have cost a pittance to have
included in the first place. I am not amused.
Many thanks to all who have helped. A special thanks to those who
have helped me through several iterations of convincing my mail program
to cooperate with Mailman. Mind, I teach that programs like Mailman
should be accommodating - but I have only been involved with computers
for some 45 years, so what do I know.
More to the saga when parts start to arrive. Next, I have to put a
proper power cord on the amplifier. #14 wire fused at 20 A!
