I never use the Clarifier. I set VFO A>B, use B as my TX
frequency and that nice big Main VFO (A) knob for RX instead of the
dinky Clar knob. If you're concerned about hitting the Sub VFO knob
and moving your TX frequency, just press Lock on the Sub VFO.

Yaesu and others are missing a real opportunity for an
improvement which should be a simple firmware change. There should
be a way to input and lock a TX frequency from the Main-VFO, which
would allow you to TX on a set frequency, use the Main-VFO for
RX AND free up the Sub-VFO for simultaneous RX on other frequencies.
I've mentioned this to Chip several times but he either gives me
a blank stare or has no input with the engineers in Japan. Such
a simple change would make the MP a much improved radio for contests!
