[1000mp] VL-1000

Hi Gary,

I have a Quadra which has been part of my station for over four years. I am
really enjoying it; it is quiet, cool-running and efficient, and the
automatic bandswitching and tuning functions make operation a joy. I drive
the Quadra with an Icom IC-756Pro, and most of the automated functions are
retained - except for the following:

remote power on/off switching from the exciter
automatic antenna selection by band
automatic generation of an 80 ~ 100W tuning carrier by the exciter
(irrespective of operating mode) when pressing F.SET or TUNE (I have to set
the exciter to RTTY)

FireBrick,
Not to keep this thread going, but for those of us that are still
contemplating the purchase of the Quadra Amp could you give us a user report
or other comments on just how well you like or dislike the the VL-1000.
If you want to reduce bandwith....err use of the List. Please feel free to
e-mail me directly, as I am very interested in user opinions before I make
the final decision to buy....
