AES Orlando's long time Senior Technician retired the first of the 
year.  Their sole remaining technician apparently doesn't do anything 
other than simple warranty work and installing filters.  As far as I 
can tell, if it requires opening the case he sends it back to the 
factory.  

Unfortunately, I'm afraid well see more of that kind of thing (I dealt 
with it professionally as well) as the old timers who really knew how 
to repair equipment retire and the young kids who are lost without the 
computer diagnostic screens are the only ones left.  Except for depot
or factory repair we'd better be prepared for disposable radios.
