        Gus, you can also key the MP with a standard 2-contact
phono plug if you do NOT insert it completely into the rear
connector.  I do that so I can substitute my TS-930S in case 
of failure and it works fine.  At least it might get you on 
the air until you can resolve the problem with the 3-contact
connector!

P.S.  I use a Y phono-adapter so I can key both from CT and an 
external keyer...available from your local Radio Shack.
