[1000mp] MkV Field EDSP problem?

     We have a Yaesu FT-1000MP MkV Field that has a problem I wonder
if anyone else has heard of.

     When you turn it on, there is no receiver audio.  Sometimes,
you get an extremely low level noise, sometimes you get gurgles and 
pops.  If you're lucky, you can power cycle the rig and everything 
works well on reboot, but the audio problem has been happening more
and more frequently, and the power cycle trick is working less and 
less frequently.

     One thing I have determined is that if I go into the menu and 
turn off EDSP, the receiver instantly comes back to life.  If I 
turn it on again, the receiver is dead.  This is repeatable behavior.
So, it seems to clearly be something related to the EDSP.

     Has anyone else experienced this?  Is it a known problem?  Or
are we unique?
