[1000mp] IMD improvement

I have revised the subject so we don't lose focus or unnecessarily irritate
anyone.

Ed (or anyone else who may have input):

As a matter of curiosity, do you or anyone you know have any idea of what
cost/price increase might be required to achieve the -36 dB and -46 dB
figures on a production basis?

Do you suppose that a manufacturer could achieve these values within a
particular design by component substitution and post production adjustment?
The reason I pose these questions is to see what might be the options for
people intent upon having really clean signals. We need to recognize that
there are those among us (maybe not on this reflector) who would not pay one
penny more for cleaner signals as long as they are LOUD, LOUD, LOUD!

Another curiosity question -- If money (pricing) were not a limiting thing,
just how good could we(someone) make a single band transmitter or a
multiband transmitter? Let's assume that it must be solid state, not tube
finals. Further, let's assume that the power output must be at least 100
watts into 50 ohms resistive.

Right after we get an idea about this, I have questions about the cost of
really good audio on transmit and receive.

I wonder if any of the Yaseu people reading these messages are able to
comment? Probably better if they do not because someone is almost certain to
think that they would be speaking for Yaseu rather than simply offering
their opinion.

On the other hand, there should be a few folks who have experience with
design and manufacturing of things like this and it would be nice to get a
comment or guidance from them.
