When I read these requests, I realized I had forgotten the answer! My first
attempt to retrain myself resulted in resetting all the frequency memories.
The second attempt was successful.

Power off the MP. Hold down FAST, LOCK and ENT(on the keypad) while powering
on the MP. Then, holding down FAST and ENT, as one usually does to access
the settings, will now also access the 9-series of settings.
