About W3GMR | |
The Green Mountain Repeater Association operates and maintains two VHF (2M) repeaters covering the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. The GMRA is affiliated with the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), the Foundation for Amateur Radio (FAR) and the ARRL’s Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES). ARES uses the GMRA’s repeaters to support the community during civil emergencies. Both repeaters are open for use by any radio amateur holding a Technician or higher class license. Frequent users are encouraged to become GMRA members. The W3GMR repeater is located in Greenbelt Maryland and the K3GMR repeater is located in Bladensburg Maryland. The K3GMR repeater is connected to the internet using Echolink: an amateur anywhere in the world can communicate over the repeater using a computer running Echolink software. For more information go to the GMRA website at www.gmramd.org.
