Yes, I can adjust it that way from 0 to 3 and higher but on zero theres no
noise level.
If I press the txpwr button to change power levels, then the noise level
comes on if zero,
and I can adjust squelch to cover it properly.

Was able to hit the repeater with my Ht, and I heard it play back the ID
on the Yaesu, so it seems to be working, but cant figure out why after a
while
it just stops on its own then you have to press the txprw out button again,
to
get the noise level breaking in and do it all over again.

The PTT has a strange mode on a fast press, cant figure out what that is.

I was in that menu and set it to 100hz which is the pl / ctcss for the
repeater
but it didnt respond. I may try again with my antenna better positioned,
but that menu is labeled tone squelch, which on other brands like ICOM,
another setting different then pl / private line tone freq.

Right out of the manual. Play with it some.
The squelch is super easy. Push the squelch button, turn the knob to the
desired level (3 is good), and it’s locked in 3 seconds later.

Just fixed one of these for another ham, replaced the finals.
Its now transmitting but I cannot find the setting for the PL / CTCSS freq?
There is a tone squelch menu with the proper selection of frequencies,
but they dont seem to have an effect.

Also the squelch seems to always be high, not much rx unless you hit the
tx-pwr button then the squelch seems to come on normal, but eventually
it reverts back to being too high?
