Maybe it's just marketing voodoo.
Yaesu's original product brocedure issued in 2012 called it a FT DX
3000D. The brocedure header is called FT DX 3000 Series.

Last manual issued on this model is dated 2016 and it's called FT DX
3000.
Yaesu web site doesn't show a FT DX 3000D.
Might be best to send them a query or drop an e-mail to your favorite
retail ham shop.
