[Yaesu] Microphone question

I really like my Yaesu Ft100D, but sometimes 100 watts on SSB seems to be
challenging. It seems like it was easier to run barefoot when I was first
licensed in the early 80s, probably partially due to the higher noise floor
today with all of the consumer electronics and their noisy switching power
supplies.

So far I have always used the stock hand mic with the FT100D. Are their
other mics that increase the audio punch, making it easier to be heard or
to break through pileups? Do desk mics usually work better? Any
recommendations on the best mic to get increased audio punch on the FT100D?
