[Yaesu] FTDX-3000 Operation in AM Mode

Just to add clarity to my posting, let me be clear that my question about
factory reset has nothing to do with my observations about AM operation.

After 2+ years of operating this radio, I have debated upon clearing all of
the standard operating adjustments I have made to start with a clean slate.
I have not been in the radio adjusting things that only a Yaesu qualified
service technician should be making.

Subject: [Yaesu] FTDX-3000 Operation in AM Mode

A couple questions for the group regarding operation of the FTDX-3000 in AM
mode

1	Should I be able to adjust the MIC GAIN? The manual suggests, YES,
but mine seems to be stuck at 30. Turning the MIC GAIN knob does not change
anything
2	What does the meter indicate for output power and what is the
adjustment range shown when you turn the CAR knob? Mine is indicating an
unmodulated output power of 100 watts on the meter. When turning the CAR
knob, I have an adjustment range of 5 to 100 watts according to the CARRIER
LEVEL indicator. The specifications indicate a range of 2 to 25 watts.

While I do not ordinarily operate AM, I stumbled upon these idiosyncrasies
while trying to baseline my rig's operation.

Finally, is anybody aware of the procedure to conduct a full factory reset
on radio? I see instructions for factory resetting the MENU items.

Thank you and 73

Tom, W1ER
