[Yaesu] Problem with FT-980 mode seitch

Hello Any FT-980 user or repairer

I have a FT-980 that I traded for 4 years ago.  The ham I traded with had the FT-980 repaired by Cal in Dallas and a month ago the mode switch stopped working on CW and FSK.  SSB and AM work OK.  Any ideas of what to look for as I would like to tune up the amp in FSK not AM.

I have two other FT-980's.  My original from 1983 receives OK and the mode switch has never given me a problem but the amp stopped working.  My second was modified by Phil K4DPK for GEN TX but his modification affects the mode switch too.  The GEN modification was his own not the Yaesu suggested mod.  

Ideas, suggestions anyone
