[Yaesu] NB question mod for Yaesu!!!!

In general, noise is AM in nature and the limiter circuits in FM receivers are designed to take out any AM components of the signal.  As such, except when the noise is extremely strong, there is no need for any noise blankers in an FM signal.

Motorola had, as an option on low band FM equipment (29.7 MHz to 50 MHz), what they called an "Extender".  This was a type of noise blanker that sampled the signal fairly near to the desired frequency.  However, most end users did not need the "Extender" and relatively few units were equipped with "Extenders".  During the going on 10-years that I owned the Motorola reconditioned center for the south-central United States, Only about 5-percent of the low band units shipped had "Extenders".

The Noise Blanker which works GREAT on SSB does NOT work in the FM mode...this is a major mistake...one location nearby, mobile on 6 SSB, the smtr is 60over with NOISE....turn on the NB and it goes to S3 or so....but go to FM mode and back up to PEGGED S Meter and no copy.

Yaesu USED to have all mode NBs in the FT690Rmkii series (I own one!and it works on ALL modes)...they also have it in their commercial FTL LOWBAND commercial LMR radios...so WHY not in the ham series??

The IF goes through the NB gate on ALL modes before splitting off to the various filters, etc...so is there is a way to enable the NB control line and make it active during FM (and AM as I cannot recall if it works there either), this would be a simple fix....I wouldn't mind an extra switch to do this....I HATE the lack of NB in the FM mode....it SUCKs..my Midland SynTech II NB outshines the Yaseu on their respective modes. It Pissed me off amateur gear with NBs do not function on FM mode but the commercial FM Only rigs DO have them....WHY????? IT IS NEEDED!!! 

Figuring this one issue out would make the FT8x7 model my dream rig for all mode operation....ANYONE have an idea??? Would love to know...
