Yep, it is hard to beat the FT-1000MP that is filtered up with good quality
filters .... and I forgot about what you reminded me of below. "Truly a
great radio ONCE its operator learns how to ust it fully". Such a key point
Barry, and especially so for using the DSP options. So many were trying for
HiFi sound and complaining about the sound of the audio, when inteligibility
was the goal ........ hi hi
Have kept mine and have no intention of ever letting it go.
The TS-480HX needs the TXO option, and the 1.8 kHz SSB filter. That improved
the DSP features on that radio too. On the base for rag chews, it is the MP,
for digital and mobile it is the HX. The temp and transmit duty cycle for
the HX is one of the best in the industry, so it is great for mobile and
high duty cycle digital and rag chew operations.
One of the key factors for me is the ability to operate my rigs off battery.
That eliminates a lot of rigs, many good rigs, from my to be purchased list
.... hi hi
DSP has come a long way based on the reports on the Sherwood Engineering Inc

Thanks for sharing your experience, enjoyed it.
