I got it from a fellow worker that I helped replace a 6 1/8" line section with a Bird "though
line section" that just came back from the Bird factory being calibrated. HE told me Bird will only
guarantee the pair to 5% if they are calibrated together.
Few know (and more ignore); if a broadcast station uses a Wattmeter with a known possible error
to calibrate the front panel power meter (calibrated to 100% at licensed power) that possible error
must be subtracted from the maximum power that they operate at.
The normal tolerance is + 10 and - 20%, but if the Wattmeter is accurate to only 5%, 105% is the
most you have any business operating at. (instead of 110%)
The output power varies with incoming line Voltage. (which drops when people get home in the
afternoon and they start cooking)
