[Yaesu] FT-1000MP

Hello:

I just bought a Yaesu FT-1000MP from an acquaintance, and am already having issues with it.

I was tuning around on 20 and 17 from time to time and I have heard a crackling and popping sound.  The main receiver then goes dead.  It comes back a few seconds later.

This evening I was listening again on 20, and I head the same crackle/pop sound.  The main receiver died again - this time it has not recovered.

Receiver sounds totally dead, but the subreceiver sill hears fine.  Transmit appears to be disabled as well as there is no RF output when in SSB or CW or AM mode.

Any thoughts on this?
