[Yaesu] FT450 loss of receive

I have a fairly new Yaesu FT450 that has a very intermittant problem.  Once
in a while, when it has been on for a while but unused (just sitting
receiving) the receive level will drop down.  It is almost like the AGC gets
stuck after hearing a loud signal or so.  It happened twice right after I
got the rig, about 1 week apart and then last night after not showing this
problem for over a month.  When it occured last night I went to transmit at
full power and the rig turned off.  When I turned the rig back on it was
receiving fine (I didn't know the receive was down until this happened, I
just thought the band was quiet).  In the past turning the rig off and then
on has fixed it as well.

I bought this new in November so it has 10 months left on the warranty, but
I kind of hate blindly sending it the Yaesu as they will probably be unable
to reproduce the problem.  I wonder if anyone else has had this problem and
know what causes it or where to look for a solution.
