[Yaesu] re problems with FT-1000D

Just got a phone call from a friend who is having some problems with his 
FT-1000D transceiver. He can't get any rf power out on ssb unless he uses 
the rf processor. However, he does get alc reading with the processor off 
but no output power. He also does not have any s-meter reading on incoming 
signals. It appears that all of these problems surfaced after a visiting ham 
hooked the transceiver to a Yaesu FL-2000 amplifier. Any comments on this 
would be greatly appreciated.
