[Yaesu] Marginally On Topic Discussions

No one knows for sure -- personally I would GUESS that the real majority
doesn't care one way or the other, with just a small number at each end of
the bell curve feeling strongly one way or the other.

Obviously anyone opposed to the posts would be the only people who had any
reason to complain to the moderator so that is the opinion that would have
been heard -- people who supported the status quo had no reason to say
anything because they never knew a change was even being considered. Then
suddenly the change was announced and one or two people stepped forward to
say they didn't like the change. There are probably more people who didn't
like the change, but who didn't say anything because they considered it a
"done deal".

If there were any real Yaesu traffic for this listserver, then the shipping
discussion might be a distraction -- but like most narrow lists, there
really isn't enough Purely On Topic material to keep the list active. This
particular shipping horror story is particularly appropriate here (and IS ON
TOPIC) because a major point is that the radio was supposedly damaged on its
way TO Yaesu which makes Yaesu's response and willingness (or unwillingness)
to help a major factor in the tale.

As a list member, I would hate to see that thread turn into a rambling
collection of everyone's various shipping horror stories (most of us have at
least a few), or worse yet, a string of "Gee, that's terrible; we feel sorry
for you" replies; but I would certainly like updates on the original story
as any progress is made -- especially any information on Yaesu's part in the
whole process.
