[Yaesu] FT 1000MP

I called Yaesu. They informed me you use 3 way phone plug and just use center  pin and ground. Second pin has no contact.  Pqage 4 in the manual shows it. I missed it.  Thanks  John

You may need to switch the output from the keyer to direct keying, not sure 
which is which on the back of the 492. Also, you cannot have the internal 
keyer turned on when you use the MFJ external keyer. If you try those two 
things I think you'll fix the problem. Another thought is you may be using 
the wrong type of cable plug from the MFJ. You don't need an "iambic" 3 way 
plug to the rig, just a two wire deal.
